Congratulations to Dan and Sandy who finally got hitched in February at Blue Duck! There were horses, helicopters and gun slingers at the Wild West Bush Wedding! Check out our facebook page for photos of the awesome day.

Also this week: we released a rare dabchick on one of our wetlands and a kiwi was spotted three of our staff members, it's all going on at Blue Duck!

We've now set a date for our conservation field day: the event will take place on the Friday 24th August with talks, Kiwi listening, wetland tours and avian avoidance training on offer. More details to follow.

Last week we watched the last of the cycle trail bridges being flown into the National Park by helicopter and today they were (we think) used for the first time by two young Kiwi girls. The girls completed the gruelling cycle there and back in one day, leaving before light and arriving back just after dark. Well done girls!

The Mountains to Sea leg of the New Zealand Cycle Trail had its offical opening on the 26th of April. Despite the rain the event was a success and the trail completed by a number of keen mountain bikers including Annette Main, the mayor of Whanganui.
